Section 1 ~ Movement

Introduction.

The intricacies of human movement is unparalleled to anything else. Human anatomy, biomechanics, functional anatomy, injury prevention, assessment, program design, corrective exercise’s and then understanding how to apply this person to person… is at best confusing 

Down the rabbit hole we go ..

During the following sections the modalities we use are vast, which is why I have applied an external world class course to the module, this incredible course is held by Pre-Script and and will teach you all you need to know to get a head start in your coaching career.

What you learn here will be priceless and set the standard on all of your clients forthcoming programs.

You will spend many hours shadowing and taking notes, learning how to track and monitor your clients body composition using systems that will help guide their results. There will be assessments, reviews and strategy calls to make sure we stay on track.

Off the floor.

  1. Complete your Pre-Script: PSL1 course that has been prioritised by yourself and the coach ~ START

  2. Build and show case a mock 6 month progressive training plan with progressions utilising density and intensity ~ START

On the floor.

  1. Over 6 months complete 100 hrs 1-1 on the floor shadowing with myself ~ tracked and logged using worksheets from FP mentorship handbook

  2. Show the ability to under go 5-10 assessment screenings ~ write up a program for the clients based of of the results ~ START

  3. Show the ability to take 6 (assessed monthly) 4-point skin fold calliper tests and measurement readings on different clients ~ information found in the FP handbook

  4. Show adequate ability to educate warm up’s specific to the task in both a 1-1 and class environment - assessed by the coach

  5. Show competence in directing 6 Small group training sessions (observed) ~ tracked and logged using worksheets from FP mentorship handbook

  6. Show competence in directing 6 conditioning classes (observed) ~ tracked and logged using worksheets from FP mentorship handbook

  7. Complete one client transformation over 12 weeks using the skills you have learned from your course work.

Environment assessments

  1. Opening and closing of the facility

  2. Gym set up and rig down

  3. General tidiness, up-keep and cleaning of gym equipment

  4. Coach appearance and presentation during sessions

  5. Meet and greet with incoming client’s

  6. Environmental changes for clients, specific demographics

  7. Session management / deviations

  8. Attitude and energy during sessions

  9. Standards on the floor during sessions

  10. Time management ~ coach and client

  11. Dealing with difficult clients and situations

  12. First aid / injury management - complete first aid course
